Our School

Tadika Astana is a registered Islamic, English-medium kindergarten.  Established in 2001, it is opened to all children of any race, religion or nationalities.   We are small but a vibrant kindergarten providing a warm, homely and welcoming environment for all children and their families.  We follow the National Preschool Standand Curriculum (KSPK)  set by the Ministry of Education  for primary school readiness for 4, 5 & 6 years old.

Our approach combines Islamic education with science & technology to provide an interactive, holistic and hands-on learning.

Our kindergarten consists of 2 buildings:   Astana Centre (for 3+, 4 & 5 years old) and  Astana Branch (for 6 years old).

To raise children to be good practising Muslims, of excellent character and knowledge.

To provide a strong foundation of Islamic education.
To provide a strong foundation of basic knowledge for primary school readiness.
To inculcate the love of reading.
To make learning fun & enjoyable.

Islam is practised as a way of life in the school  ~  in every aspect of our activities and learning. Some of the every day practices include :-  to love learning, to love reading, building positive socio-emotional aspects, good behaviour, keeping oneself clean, care of the environment, respect for friends and the elders, to be aware of the people around and to learn to help people who are in need.  There are so many ways that Islamic values are practised in the school.   Insya Allah, if all these are practised in school and at home, we doa that all our children in this school will grow up to be adults with the best ahlak and also knowledgeable.

Reading is the foundation to all knowledge and strongly practised in the school.  Reading is enjoined in Islam, as stated in the Al-Quran Surah 96 Al-Alaq (The Clot, Read). The children’s literacy development starts from recognising the basic letters of the alphabet and Arabic language (for Quran reading).  There are many activities to enhance the litearcy development in the child.

Parent’s Involvement

Parents are our partners in the learning discovery and development of the children.  Therefore we encourage parent’s invovlvement and participation in the school activities,  to read a lot with their children at home; and to be always in touch with the class teachers to follow their children’s development.   From our experience, positive support and involvement from the parents have a great impact on the child and enhanced the child’s learning progress.
